Group Financial Manager

To assist the General Manager with: Financial reporting with Group reporting; taxation; alignment of policies & procedures; operational financial functionsand financial reporting strategy & developing Group integration plans. Meaningful analysis & feedback on actual, forecast & budgeted figures to the GM – Financial reporting  – written and verbal form. Liaising with internal & external auditors. This role requires an individual who is self-motivated, deadline driven with technically sound knowledge of the IFRS reporting standards. Excellent communication skills, adaptable to change in a growing organisation & comfortable with a manual reporting environment.

Preparation of monthly Group as well as three individual entities’ reporting packs (actual & forecasts); review subsidiaries monthly packs; ensuring all journals are posted & reconciliation reviewed; aligning recon framework for the Group; management of the group’s creditors & payment processes; management of the group’s debtors & receipts processes; providing monthly comprehensive analysis & feedback on individual company as well as the Group’s financial performance to the GM; preparation of monthly & quarterly financial management reports; assist with the compilation of Group Annual Financial Statements; review of all subsidiary annual financial statements; coordination of the Group audits and compiling audit files; assist with managing & preparation of annual group budgets; ensure that financial records are in line & updated with full IFRS requirements; management of direct reports; preparation, review & ensuring timely & accurate submission of Group tax returns & payments (Income tax & VAT) management of Group’s fleet card process & reconciliations and related adhoc duties as and when required.

Qualifications Required

CA (SA); completed Articles; minimum of 3 years post articles experience in a financial reporting role; technically strong with IFRS standards; Advanced Excel; experience in HFM reporting highly advantageous; experience in using Oracle financials is an advantage. Insurance industry experience highly advantageous
